Monco's v.2 body armor
Monco:
Since I'm reworking my bucket, I decided to also run my armor through the same deal - only less electronic stuff on this.
i've taken all the plates off the new vest i've started, and though at first I wanted a sandy-gold.. i'm sorta alright with a more bright, brilliant "Legacy" vengeance gold. i've dulled it a bit with some black, just so that i wouldn't stand out TOO much.

obviously me not in the armor yet. :P with the shoulder bell, i couldn't bare to part with my mando'a, and i was pretty pleased with the effect that it had - the dark brown under the black and grey. unfortunetly the light isn't so good in my room, so i'll have to wait a little bit until i can take pictures of the backplate, or of all the armor put on the vest and stuff.
this time, the backplate is going to be supporting a backpack, though, sorta like a Mando War Correspondant :D i'll have a camcorder hooked up to a small pinhole camera snaking up through to my helmet, so I'm keeping my armor as light as possible - though i'm most likely going to be adding some trash can armor to my vest as a 'flak' thing.. just to make the light aluminum of the armor pop a little more.

I like how you kept the Mando'a. The chipped paint has a sort of 'heirloom' feel and the text is a way of remembering the previous owner. I'm looking forward to seeing more on this!
Monco:
Thanks, I did that with the thigh plates as well(mostly because the masking tape would also tear off a bit of the new, wet paint because i was rushing..) - I think the idea of it being actually repainted 'heirloom' armor is great, i really love the concept of it
Vhe Oyre:
Ooooo, digging the new paint job, even more than before. I'm a fan of metallics on plates. You did a good job on it!
Monco:
A LITTTTTLE Update on this:
I'm not wearing the thigh plates only because my fingers were getting too cold to start the sewing of velcro onto my coveralls. :P
So, the changes from the normal kit being: added fur to the girdle, I have a holster!, the vest is made of duckcloth and is now extremely light and far easier to wear, the plates are attached via velcro. I'm not wearing the helmet for these pictures because I haven't re-installed a visor, and i'd rather put some fans into the thing before that..
Those gaunts are still brown because they haven't been changed yet. I've got some scaled-down boba accessories that'll be popped on once it gets warmer, and I want to see if I can find a way to put my touch-phone into 'em securely.
and one problem is that the right-side shoulder bell sits too low, that's getting fixed.
thanks for looking :P
