Tiika Ruslin's (beast master) soft parts
Kora:
Because I'm actually doing a fair amount of work for soft parts for this kit (vs my other two anyway), I figured I'd stick them up here. :)
First of all, I was originally going to use a lot of leather for this kit. But I ended up finding some faux leather and suede fabrics that had the right colors, so I used them in collaboration with the real leather. (All the leather and fabrics I used in this kit are from Goodwill, with the exception of the straps on my armor and a few odds and ends). It was actually easier than I'd hoped to find enough goods as I wanted layered looks for both the kama and cape. So, anyway, on to the few pictures I have so far.
The cape
Base of the cape is a pale tan leather skirt half. Glued on (yes, it's astounding, I'm using shoe goo to hold together what it was meant to hold together XD) is the dark brown leather with the bright brown fabric drape. Originally I thought to have the cape attached under the shoulder bells much like it is for my other two kits, but then I decided to do something different and made a collar portion out of some medium brown fabric. The rivets are glued on for decoration purposes. :)
The cape is complete. :)
The leg portions
I figured as a beast master, it'd be a pain to try to ride an animal with a true kama, so I was originally thinking about having one that was split up the back. As usual, I changed my mind and decided to go with a half a kama on one side and a pelt on the other. The half kama is made from the other half of that light tan leather skirt, with the dark brown leather and medium brown fabric glued on, also with decorative rivets (that can't be seen that well with the girth on, but oh well).
Yes, that dark brown on the left of the picture is the same dark brown from the cape. Flash just washes it out a lot.
I was going to go ahead and glue this over today so it could be hung from the same line as the kama, but it seems to have gone missing. I'm thinking either I put it somewhere to keep it safe from my cat and forgot where, or it wasn't somewhere safe from my cat and he's dragged it away and hidden it. Both are equally good possibilities. I'm going to go digging around for it tomorrow.
I still need to get some pictures of the girth belt, real belt, and the decorative belt which will actually hang vertically down the same leg as the fur. You'll understand why when I get a picture of it up. lol Also have some suede boots I'll probably use and some fingerless gloves I'll use until I can find some better ones. Oh, and a corset thing. I'm attempting to do what I did for my twi'lek's corset and modify one from Goodwill. This time it's harder though as it's leather and not fabric. So, depending on how that starts turning out, I may or may not post pictures. XD
Kora:
Bwahaha. I found the pelt. I apparently hid it from the cat so well, I forgot that I hid it. XD It was on the craft table under a pile of fabric. So I'll glue that either tomorrow or sometime before I go to bed. Also snapped a shot of the girth and real belt plus decorative belt.
Real and decorative belt
I'm actually a little worried that this belt may end up being too big with the corset on, so it may get changed out, depending on how I can get it to to tie off. You'll also notice the shell thing hanging from it. I honestly am not sure how that was ever supposed to be a real belt, but it works for my purposes. It will hang down over the pelt, and, depending on how cumbersome it is, will be tied around my leg above my knee.
The Girth belt
Just used some of the remaining bright brown fabric to make this. It's only purpose is to hide the corset seam and ties for the kama and pelt. It's partially folded, so it's hard to tell it's shape, but it's narrower along the middle and flares out at the ends. It actually fits nicely along my back and hips
Once I get the pelt fixed up so it will hang right, I'll try to get some pics with all the soft gear on, so you guys can see how it actually looks on a person (sadly, my duct tape friend is dying on me. . I need to make a new one badly).
Kora:
Got the pelt all glued up, so I pulled on all the soft goods (minus the corset since I've done pretty much nothing with it yet) for some shots.
Front:
Side:
Back (er, the cape is supposed to be higher, it slipped down while I was adjusting something. . going to have to fix that issue once I've got all the armor done):
In case you haven't checked out my helmet thread, the back is actually going to have some black leather like fabric hanging down it as well. It'll be the last thing installed on the bucket. (My hair will also be back in a pony tail, not loose.) The staff is getting painted, too, just fyi ;) .

That is looking SERIOUSLY awesome. I just got very excited for this suit. :D
