Hey vods,

I started a new mask "Mandalore the Ultimate"  ,though it is not still finished but would like some HONEST opinions, good or bad I can take it. Undecided

1- What color should I put the T-Visor ?  *Thinking of RED or BLACK*
2- Is the color OK ?

The visor and breathing device that attaches to the bottom of the mask is still to do and the cowl for the head and all the rest...

What do you think?

Thanks Smiley

Looking good so far. I'd go with the black visor. Red is hard to do and still have it be functional. People have had a hard time with it.

Good luck! And Keep us posted! Grin

Shocked Wow, that looks amazing! I think the color looks fine. As for the color of the visor, I think both could work, but I'm leaning more towards the black.

i believe mandalore the ultimate was usually featured with a red visor if i'm not mistaken. it's actually much easier to do than people think. i've done green on my mandalore the indominable mask, pink on my gf's helmet and most recentlt blue on my son's kom'rk skirata helmet using this technique...

i start using a dark green welding visor, then using the visor as a template, i cut a colored piece of see through plastic and overlay it on the dark green visor then install. the dark green underneath keeps the visor from being see through and the colored visor over it gives the desired color.

what i use for the color you ask? if you go into a staples or other office supply store, you can find a variety of note books or folders made from see through colored plastics. i purchase the desired color i need. they are generally cheap and add no difficulties to your vision.

nice mask!

Thanks all,

@ A'den Skirata :  If you could check that out because I havent seen any pictures of the mandalore with a red visor,I only thought about it because he will have a red cape and it would probably look better?

I will check with the red and black visor and post pics later on this week to see what it would look like.

Mean while, Here are 2 other pics of the helmet that I forgot to add.

here are a few links to pix. now, it could just be artists rendition of reflection etc on the visor. however, the figure (which are notorious for being inaccurate) also shows a red visor.

I also had this site with action figurines for other references it is a nice archive for some details in costumes.

Thanks for the tip, A'den. I never would have thought to use a notebook cover as a different color for the visor. Do you think it would work on a T-visor.com setup? Probably would give it that titanium look, right?

David.

i know rebelscum very well. been using it for years. i used to be very active on www.sandtroopers.com but not so much anymore as i've shifted from 3 3/4" to 6'05"! lol

as a side note, the figure you're referencing is mandalore the indominable, the first mandalore, not mandalore the ultimate Smiley

yeah, i think it would work just fine. i used to swear by those but since the boba's introduced me to the welding shields, i've had a change of heart.

now that you mention it, the blue visor in my sons kom'rk helmet has a slightly metallic look to it although it wasnt intended. however, i dont think my green visor on my kotor mask looks metallic at all.

Yes, sorry....but I was pointing out that site as references like in some particular points in the costume like the breathing pipes and other detail not seen in other pictures.

Heres another pic: the one on the left is The Ultimate and the right one is Indominable.
Mandalore the Ultimate got his mask from the First mandalore (Indominable) when he died.

Heres the pic I'm talking about

See in this picture, the mask is different also.?

Indomitable wasn't the first Mand'alor, but he was the immediate predecessor of Ultimate.

And thanks for the info on colored visors! I'll have to go try that!

just for continuities sake... you're right, mandalore te indominable wasn't te first mandalore, he was the second. mandalore the first was first, indominable was second and the ultimate was the predecessor of indominable. here's a list of known mandalore's from first to last (as a side note, i do believe that novall identifies himself as the unidentified mandalore if i remember correctly)...

Mandalores
3.1 Mandalore the First
3.2 Mandalore the Indomitable
3.3 Mandalore the Ultimate
3.4 Unidentified Mandalore
3.5 Mandalore the Preserver ( i believe is canderous ordo)
3.6 Ung Kusp
3.7 Murdered Mandalore
3.8 Jaster Mereel
3.9 Jango Fett
3.10 Mandalore the Resurrector (spar alpa 02 posing as boba fett)
3.11 Fenn Shysa
3.12 Boba Fett

the first 3 are the only known to wear the mask. which was the original kre'bes before the mythosaur skull became the symbol of the mandalore and his ori'amikade
