also Mandalore the Indomitable wasn't the second, just the second KNOWN Mandalore. Mandalore the first founded the crusaders sometime around 24,000 BBY. there were likly several mandalores in between him and indomitable.

This is what I found on the Mandalores history:

1. Mandalore the First, c. 7,000 BBY (possibly a mythical figure)
2. Mandalore the Indomitable, ?-3,996 BBY
3. Mandalore the Ultimate, 3,996-3,960 BBY
4. An unknown Mandalore whom HK-47 attempted to assassinate
5. Canderous Ordo, c. 3,951 BBY
6. Ung Kusp, c. 1,500 BBY
7. An unknown Mandalore who was killed by Durge in 100 BBY
8. Jaster Mereel, 60-52 BBY
9. Jango Fett, 52-34 BBY
10. Mandalore the Resurrector (AKA Alpha-Ø2, or "Spar"), 21 BBY-5 ABY
11. Fenn Shysa, 5-23 ABY
12. Boba Fett, 23 ABY-?

This week end I installed the T-visor.

I used a 2MM plexiglass that I got a the second hand store with protective plastic still on & for tinting I used the super limo black scratch resistant window film that I got at Canadian Tire (automotive parts shop).

Sorry for the fuzzy shots.

The Pictures does not give it justice. Undecided

very nice!!!!
i was looking for a thread just like this!
what did you use to build it?

I did not have a camera to snap my progress since it was all made at my job site but this is how I did it.

PLEASE USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES (and air filtering  mask if needed) FOR RESIN APPLICATION AND EYE PROTECTION WHEN CUTTING THE MASK !!!

1- Wig foam head.
  - oil base clay
  -aluminum foil
  -fiberglass resin & fiberglass cloth
  -Gold Krylon aerosol paint
-Black acrylic water base paint & small paintbrush for aging
  -Krylon aerosol clear sealant

2- I used oil based clay to sculpt the shape of the mask with the dimension of my face but added 1/2 inch on each side to give space for the hood & padding. plus I added  1 inch at the front bottom to add the breading device & hose later on.

3-After having the shape & mask features / designs,  I carefully added aluminum foil to cover the clay (this is to protect the clay for the next step-(fiberglass resin)

4-After all the clay is covered with the aluminum,  I used the fiberglass resin and gave it a first coat and let it dry for 30 minutes, then added a 2nd and 3rd coat. Or use the fiberglass material if needed instead of several coats of resin.  ( After drying process DO NOT REMOVE IT from the clay now )

ATT:  Let it try for 8Hrs at least to let it set completely. If you see it is still sticky like, it is more likely you did not use enough hardener, don't worry if it happens,  just mix a small batch of resin but add more hardener this time and it will cure within 30 minutes.

5-After all the resin is dry I made sure not to have any unwanted detail so I had to sand down and trim a few spots with a dremel & sanding bit.

6- I added a few detail with bondo here and there and filled a few unwanted gaps, re-sanded.

7- This next step needs practice , so To add the fissure details and aging in the different levels of the mask,  I used the dremel & cutting wheel and practice on an unwanted piece of fiberglass I had left. Then proceeded on the mask, This is the result:

8- Sand down the residue from the job you did with the dremel if needed. Now check your mask if there is any modifications or corrections needed before the next step.

9- Gently pull off your resin mask from the clay, don't worry,  if you added enough hardener it will not brake.

10- First trace a line around the mask with a felt pen to remove  the excess resin and proper mask rounded like shape.

11- With the dremel and cutting wheel, cut the edge of the mask where you traced a line for the excess resin, then cut the T-visor gap. If needed refill the unwanted cut marks with bondo then sand down.

12- Check your mask to see if you like it. When complete and is like you desire, prime the whole thing with gray primer.

13- I used  " KRYLON " Aerosol Gold paint ,I find that it sticks and does a better job & dries a lot faster  than Tremclad. Now paint it.

14- For the aging effects (different people use different methods) but I used acrylic water base paint (if you make an error it is easy to wipe off with water) and brushed it on to get all the cracks and cranny's then wiped the excess  off. This will get the shining out of the gold and at the same time will get the cracks left by your dremel and the corners  that special aged effect.

15- When you get that WOW ! Shocked  look from yourself and has that desired look you wanted. Spray the darn thing with the clear spray and while letting it dry , sit back and open a  can of Beer or root beer ( if your under aged ) and toast your new almost dried up Mandalore the Ultimate mask.

If there is any question PM me .

Thanks for you comments, and like I said "good or bad"  it is always appreciated. Smiley

Hey,

I started the first part of my mandalorian chest armor yesterday. Yes, another trash can armor  Smiley,
I'll be combining different material to help in the build like fiberglass and f-resin since it also makes part a bit more solid.

There is minimal info or pictures of this mando so I'm doing what I can see with what I got and had a little help/ tips from a fellow member here at MMCC.

There are 3 layers of plastic , separated by card board to give it more thickness, I heated each part with a torch so that it molds my body a bit more.
I also found this afternoon some more stuff to help with the armor build, but I will keep it a secret till I figure out how to assemble the rest so that it will not interfere with the actual Mandalore the Ultimate's appearance.

There is still progress to do on it, so I will add more pics next week also.

Since it is my first trash can build, be gentle on the comments,

Thanks

He He He, I was thinking all day today that probably I could get that  2MM  6' x 4' aluminum sheet  that is laying around at work doing nothing and trace my actual progress on it since its already fitted for Me size ?

MmmH !   Aluminum armor...light weight metal.....Back to reality, one of the shoulder armor would be hell to make with metal Undecided

Wayii, ner burc'ya. This is looking good so far. Even given the limited reference pics of M the U's armor, this looks like it has great potential.

hey MerCenary I'm curious about the limo black window tint.

1- does it render the lens dark ennough so we can't see your face with a flash photography?

2- ca you still see good trough it?

I have a motorcycle visor that is relatively dark, but flash photography doesn't make for a good ennough darkness, thinking I could add some to it.

I've seen others put screens and nylons behind the actual lens to help with that, too.

BTW is that stuff expansive?

I must say, your helmet is awesome. Good job on that. Keep up the good work!

Hey Olos'nay,

1 - Yes the lens is dark enough that you will not see through with the flash photography. Check below for the close-up snap I took of Myself. I did not clean the lens after manipulating it  Undecided

2 - The vision is excellent, its a bit like having really dark sun glasses.

3 - You can find the film at Canadian Tire and it is approximately around 18$
