In other words, after 6 pages. There are a ton of ways that members have mounted armor to plates. Pick any of them posted by someone with bars under their forum name  ;) (means it worked)

Straps, button snaps, a little velcro, and alot of praying it doesn't snap off.

What about putting a strap from the top of the plate that attaches to the belt or kama?it works for my heat shieling for when I use the grinder(melted thigh area of coveralls with a grinder's sparks >.<)

I personally use the same method as Jun.  I find the snaps to be very strong, but you can't adjust your armor...so you better get the snap placement right =D

My thigh plates are held tightly in place with my holster straps.  Used to use velcro, but that was highly irritating.
howdy, how well does that method of holding your thigh armour in place work?

Countersunk bolts with washers. BOLT RATE INTO THE VEST!    and trim the excess inside.  :P

Works best if you use a punch on leather, or a heated rod to melt through fabric to prevent it from unraveling. Works like aa BAWS.

having read the various posts in this section i came across a tip to mount thigh armour that is simple, quick and appears to be effective and it is ....using my real world pistol hip / thigh holsters [both left and right] to hold the armour in place ...and what do you know...it seems to work.i even jumped around to see if i could make the armour come loose and it staed in place....happy days  :P ;D ;) :D

When it comes to thigh plates, holsters them selves wont hold them for long. Especially when yer walking around, ive got a patch of industrial velcro (hook) on the plates and some soft on the flightsuit. Then the holsters just hold them from flappin around, the other way is fix the plates to the holsters.

true enough,i plan on attaching the thigh plates properly in any event as,although it has not happened yet,i suspect that you are very correct abought the holsters leg straps not being up to the job in the long term ;)

You could pass leather rivets through solid materials like laether or plastic-attach the the flightsuit itself, but with no overtop sagging (i.e., no material wrinkled up, but have it all straight down in order to keep the plates even and not ahve the fall an inch or so when you stand up) you could also use snaps but........I find they fail far too easily......

Velcro-plates to flightsuit, then you can leather-rivet the plates to the holsters or some kind of parachute harness type of webbing setup. Anyone have any good methods for keeping a colar plate on?
